Grbl protocol: the welcome banner on every connect, a one-second TX stall bound, a 2 KiB TX ring (grblHAL-glowforge e507e13). Bench-proven on the bench reference: a LightBurn connect shows the banner and the machine settings read completes without a disconnect.
