The dual-stack listener reports every peer as a sockaddr_in6; ulfius
2.7.15 copied sixteen bytes of it, so forgectrl's loopback-only cooling
channel refused the controller's every report (403 loopback only) and
the engine never saw a run or an armed window. The recipe carries the
patch: a sockaddr_storage allocation and a copy of the family's length,
in the dispatcher and in ulfius_copy_request.
forgetest: forgectrl.auth asserts POST /cool/state from loopback -> 200
beside the LAN 403, and covers src/peer.*. BRINGUP item 21 and the
campaign log record how the campaign on dev 20260824215906 found it.
rsyslog flagged the fallback action after the include as unreachable (the rendered rules end in stop). The forgefirm-logging init script now writes a default rules file when the render leaves none, and the shipped rsyslog.conf carries only the include.
rsyslog replaces busybox syslogd/klogd (VIRTUAL-RUNTIME_base-utils-syslog,
trimmed PACKAGECONFIG) and becomes the only log writer: the appended
/etc/rsyslog.conf sets the inputs and the ff_line format and includes
the per-logger rules that `forgectrl --render-syslog` renders from the
machine settings at boot. forgefirm-logrotate becomes forgefirm-logging:
render before rsyslog starts (S19), sweep the pre-syslog log files into
/data/forgefirm/legacy-logs once, and rotate the tree at boot and hourly
by rename + HUP instead of copytruncate. Pins bumped to the pushed
forgectrl (syslog emitter, Logs tab, export), grblHAL-glowforge (syslog
emitter) and python3-gfhardware apps (syslog handlers, capture dir);
the CI harnesses set FFLOG_STDERR=1 so failure diagnostics keep the
controller's log lines. BRINGUP carries the bench validation checklist
(Next work item 14); this is an image change and rides the next flash.
The release image now targets the 200 MiB factory eMMC slot: content
plus 40 MiB working space, hard build failure past the slot size. The
raw ext4 is deployed alongside the wic; scripts/mkfw.sh packs it into
a signed .fw with factory-pattern upgrade.a/upgrade.b tasks. fwup
1.16.0 recipe (applies ForgeFIRM and Glowforge-signed archives on
device) is installed in both images. Dev images stay SD-sized with a
256 MiB working margin and no ceiling.
Verified on the 20260808153331 build: release ext4 180.8 MiB; signed
.fw applies byte-exact with fwup 1.16.0 and with the factory's 0.14.2
(raw-format pubkey), and 0.14.2 -V verifies the signature.
ulfius builds itself with -Werror -Wconversion; Yocto Scarthgap sets
-D_TIME_BITS=64 on arm32, making a long-long-to-long time conversion
in u_websocket.c fatal. Exclude conversion warnings from -Werror.
The ulfius recipe tracked AUTOREV master and could never build: master
requires orcania/yder versions that have no release tags, no recipe for
either existed in any layer, and curl (default-ON WITH_CURL) was
missing from DEPENDS (audit M10). Pin the coherent release set - ulfius
v2.7.15 + orcania v2.3.3 + yder v1.4.20 - add the two new recipes,
add curl, convert to SPDX LGPL-2.1-or-later, and rename the misspelled
recipes-extended/uflius directory.
