ScottW514 520d62ac05 forgetest tests: the confirmed trims of the tool's own unit tests
The cases that tested a mock, a timer, a wording or a table, or that
replayed a judgment a host test already holds, leave forgetest/tests.
What catches a false PASS, keeps the bench safe, or guards the gate
stays.

- test_baseline: the fake sysfs tree is a mixin with no test_ methods,
so ExtensionFreeTests and BaselineModeTests no longer re-run
BaselineTests' 25 cases (133 runs, now 45). CoolPublishTests, the
lamp-fade cases and TransientNotLeftoverTests go; PositionDeadbandTests
keeps a reading past the band and an unreadable reading, both never
  excused. Both latch-relock cases stay.
- test_fixture: MdnsTests, the three timing cases, the probe's log
wording, and nine prompt-routing variants go. A live test never runs
unattended, the arm-press opt-in, the short-press edge, the presence
press handing over the arm press, and the arm notice dropping at the
press stay (35 cases, now 21).
- test_cloud_suite: three false-PASS guards stay: the latch open at a
dark print's button, a lid stop that is not edge-driven, the kernel
refusing the resume. The guards for the latch unlocking in the hold
and a paused print resuming left with their catalog tests in 6a434bb.
The rest go, with the harness pieces and the hunt-lid fixture only
they read (41 cases, now 3).
- test_cooling_suite: GateOffTests, CriticalTierTests, FanGateTests and
FansQuietTests go with their harness; the flow verdict's log reads
stay: only the text after the offset, never an older verdict before it
(the flow-under-load false-PASS guard), a rotated log read whole.
- test_queue: RunClockTests and three ordering cases go, and refusals
are judged by a reason given, not its words; both live
  acknowledgment cases stay.
- test_takeover_position: the six cases that judge the head and move
  nothing stay.
- test_camera_home_return: the five cases where the head must not move
stay, and so do the three that check the hand-back jog's direction and
distance (homed, unhomed with the counters not counted twice, after
cloud mode): a wrong sign or a double count drives the head into the
gantry stops (15 cases, now 8).
- test_server: the keep-alive and ETag cases, the takeover and scope
half of the bench case, and the page's self-contained asserts
  (test_page.py's) go.
- test_operator: the wording cases, the fixture case (test_fixture.py's)
  and JournalTests go.
- test_mode: the supervisor timeout table goes.
- test_takeover_client: the listener, the offline service back, the
online client without the hunt, and GRBL under no marker stay.
- test_responsiveness: PageTests and ImplementationCostTests go; the
log cache keeps appends, a partial line, a replaced file and a fresh
list, and the fingerprint cache a changed manifest and one with no
  content hash.
- test_bench_registry: GfbenchTests and two description and argument
  pins go.
- test_installer: the log-format and TLS-wording cases and
InstallerShapeTests go; the die case checks the reason is in the log,
  not its format.
- test_image: KernelIdentTests and the registration pin go.

Each file's __main__ guard now ends the file, and the docstrings say what
each still proves.

Proof: each of the fifteen files passes under Linux as forgetest-ci
discovers it, and pyflakes reports nothing new in them.

Acceptance: none; test-only.

ScottW514 eb0a1e7838 exthost.panel-install: the key goes in through the panel, and the box holds the button
The test added the owner's key by copying the file. It now adds it the way
an operator does: POST /ext/key with the machine's button held. Without the
button it is 409 and no file lands; a name with a space, a name that is a
path, and no key at all are 400; a key that is no key is 409 from the host;
with the button held it is added and listed with its id. Removed again, the
same archive reads unverified, and removing a key that is not there is 409.

The bench actuator's press was 200 ms, the firmware's default, and a
request that must reach the machine while the button is down often missed
it: the unverified install took three presses on one run and all ten on
another. ctx.act() now takes `ms`, the fixture client passes it to the box
(the firmware clamps it into 20 to 500), and the two button-held steps ask
for 500. Both landed on the first or second press afterward.

Proven. The unit suite: 451 tests, 0 undefined names (both stub fixtures
take the new argument, and the fixture test pins that the box is asked for
the longest press). On the bench reference, image 20260921161446 with the
cross-built forgectrl and extension host mounted over the image's:
exthost.panel-install PASS, exthost.package-routes PASS,
exthost.hold-pause-tier PASS. Against the image's own daemons the install
test FAILS, as it should.

Acceptance. exthost.panel-install covers forgectrl's src/extpkg.*,
src/main.c, src/auth.* and forgeext's src/main.c, src/install.*,
src/pkg.*; the runner and the fixture client are harness, outside the
suite and outside every fingerprint.

ScottW514 9139e923b1 forgetest: the jog witness judged over the sequence, as the sampler can see it
On the bench the head accelerometer's sysfs read lands two or three
samples in a one-second jog leg, and two samples on the constant-velocity
stretch read near idle with the head in full flight: the accelerometer
sees the ramps, not the travel. The first unattended queue on dev image
20260822204234 failed motion.jog-roundtrip on that (2 of 8 legs judged)
with the head plainly moving where a ramp was caught (p2p 3019, 1330,
1698, 1663). The verdict is now over the sequence: p2p across all the
legs at or above the liveness threshold, and motion on at least two
distinct legs (one jolt is not a gantry moving on every jog); the
sampler must have landed samples at all. Rerun: p2p 2897 over 17
samples, motion on 3 legs, PASS; the whole unattended queue passed (15,
then 9 re-required by the module hash) on that image.

camera.snapshot's PASS line names the half-res frame it compared (the
full-res size had been printed in its place). AccelSampler gets host
tests over a fake iio tree.

ScottW514 de324cc32f forgetest: the operator's part asked for by name, and fewer hands in a campaign
A campaign asked a person for about eighty things: lid, button and
interlock actions, app jobs, and sixteen confirmations by eye, most of
them as popups to read and answer while the head was already moving.
This is the forgetest-only step of cutting that down.

The operator channel. A test asks for its operator's part in four ways:
ctx.ready() pre-announces a timed step and waits for the click that
starts it; ctx.notice() is a standing instruction with no button, the
test watching the machine for the result; ctx.act(channel, state) is a
machine action by name (lid, interlock, button) - a notice for the
operator today, proven done by the switch reading or an `until`
condition, recorded in evidence.actions with who performed it, and the
seam a bench actuator plugs into through runner.fixture; ctx.confirm()
stays for the yes/no the evidence cannot answer. Tests declare
`actions`; a `precheck` refuses a start the machine cannot honor (a
reason, no result, a queue skips it and carries on).

The page shows what you will do before it is asked: the running test's
steps, a queue's attended tests still waiting, or the test whose title
you clicked while idle; notices and prompts sit under it. The campaign
card no longer carries baseline, queue and leftover notes: those go to
the runner journal (daemon.log, syslog as `forgetest`, and the run in
progress), with a Runner journal button in the footer.

The catalog, 43 tests (27 auto, 8 operator, 8 live; was 45: 25/12/8):
cloud.mode-switch absorbs cloud.hunt-lid-open and cloud.gfhome-homing
(the connect made with the lid open, the hunt judged lid-open with its
Z cycle, the re-hunt waited out after the close, the switch back, then
$H judged by gfhome's own "homing complete" line with its motion
windows; precheck homing_mode = gfcloud). kernel.fire-line is auto with
the HV-not-good precheck, camera.snapshot is auto (a second frame with
the lid lamp off differs and is smaller), motion.jog-roundtrip is auto
(the head accelerometer per leg, the supervisor's own witness). The
remaining attended tests use Ready gates and act(); the head's beam
detector and the button LEDs replace the eye, leaving two confirms: the
emission witness's mark and the app's display in cloud.pause-resume.

Proof: tests/test_operator.py (the channel, the precheck, the journal),
the cloud replays re-targeted to the merged round trip over a fake grbl
and the bench excerpts, 196 host tests green, coverage lint 0 uncovered.
Every re-ported attended test is owed one bench run on the next dev
image (BRINGUP). Catalog consequence: the merged and reclassified
tests' implementation hashes move; nothing else is invalidated.
